What is the purpose of a postural study?
The aim of a postural study is to determine precisely the ideal position for you on your bike. The aim is to eliminate any parasitic pain associated with cycling (i.e. any pain not caused by physical exertion). This study will also optimise your pedalling efficiency and performance on your bike.
Thanks to our Bikefitting.com measurement system, we can also copy the measurements of your existing bike and apply them to your new frame.
The other application of the postural study is to determine the size and components of your future bike. Thanks to the morphological measurements, we can draw up a complete file with all the dimensions and useful information.
Who is this study aimed at?
The Bikefitting.com system is for everyone. Whether you're a road cyclist, mountain biker or leisure biker, this study is universal and adapts to your needs.
How does a postural study work?
1. Taking stock
First of all, it's important to take stock of your current cycling, your cycling past and your future goals. During this stage, we'll also talk about any physical problems you may have, so that we can take them into account during the adjustment and try to correct them.
2. Measures
Next, we take around ten measurements of you and enter them into a programme specially designed by the brand. This phase is the longest, but also the most important. Everything must be accurate to the millimetre to avoid accumulated errors.
3. Hardware
At the same time, we'll draw up a list of your equipment (pedals, shoes, cleats, saddle, etc.) and enter it into the programme. In this way, the results of the study will leave nothing to chance.
4. Results
The programme then compiles all the data, compares it with a gigantic database and generates a complete file with all the bike's dimensions. The Bikefitting.com system references 60 brands and 3,000 frames to calculate the ideal frame size to avoid errors.
5. Applying the results
All that remains is to adjust the bike according to the programme's recommendations, always taking into account your objectives and your sporting history. This stage is carried out using the XY laser positioning tool. To the nearest tenth of a millimetre! We adjust the saddle height, saddle back, handlebar height, aspect ratio, lever position and shim position.
How can I get an appointment?
Postural studies are by appointment only.
You can contact us using the contact form available here.
Allow between 1:00 and 1:30 for a full analysis and adjustment of your bike(s). At the end of the session, you will be given a file containing all the measurements taken on your bike. These measurements can be reproduced on other bikes.
